Importing & Exporting Projects

Sharing your Creator projects, assets, and animations allows others to modify, remix, and build upon your work.

XR Creator Studio provides the option to export and import projects for collaboration and scene management.

πŸ“Œ What is a .xrproj File?​

An .xrproj file contains:

  • The entire project structure
  • All assets and animations
  • Scene data for easy import into another account

How to Export a Project (.xrproj File)​

You can export projects either from the XR Editor dashboard or directly from within a project.

To export from the XR Editor dashboard:​

  1. Locate the project you want to export.
  2. Click the More options dropdown (β‹―) for that project.
  3. Select Export.
  4. The project will automatically download to your computer as a .xrproj file.

To export from within a project:​

  1. Open the Project dropdown menu in XR Creator Studio.
  2. Select Export project.
  3. A .xrproj file will be generated.
  4. Share this file with others so they can import and modify the scene.

Importing a .xrproj file allows you to:

  • Access a pre-existing scene with all its assets.
  • Modify the project without affecting the original owner's work.

Importing a .xrproj file from the XR Editor dashboard​

You can import a project directly from the XR Editor dashboard

  1. Click the New dropdown.
  2. Select Import.
  3. This allows you to upload any .xrproj file previously saved on your computer.

Importing a .xrproj file from inside a project​

  1. Open the Project dropdown menu within the XR Editor.
  2. Select Import .xrproj project.
  3. Choose the .xrproj file you want to upload.
